Join us for this kick-off to summer in Long Beach exhibit , featuring watercolor artist Debbie Lewis and the creative ceramic figurative sculptures of Paula Collins of Laguna Beach, CA. The exhibit runs from June 8th through July 7th.
Long Beach Debbie Lewis is a Long Beach-based watercolor artist who has been specializing in Long Beach-themed paintings since 2008. The iconic buildings and landmarks of downtown and the waterfront, including the marinas, oil islands and coastline and iconic building profiles, immediately caught her attention and have been her main subject matter for over a decade. She loves fun and vibrant colors and bold value contrasts – both of which have become recognizable features of her work.
Paula Collins has been working and creating ceramic figurative sculpture for over 25 years. The foundation of her work stems from spending many working years on a passenger railroad, meeting many different people as she traveled across the country. Listening to hours of stories about family lore from her customers would become the jumping off point for her own storytelling. Her interest in surrealism developed the more she experimented with the figure in clay sculpture and she has been showing her work and winning accolades at fine art shows across the country.
